SABAH RECORDS 106 NEW COVID-19 CASES

KOTA KINABALU: The number of daily Covid-19 cases in Sabah is back to three digits as 106 new cases were reported today.


Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said Tawau contributed the most cases with 63, while Kota Kinabalu and Lahad Datu recorded 14 and 10 cases respectively,



Several districts reported one digit new cases, namely Tuaran (four), Kinabatangan (four), Kota Kinabalu (three), Papar (three), Penampang (two), Beaufort (two) and Kalabakan (one). The rest of the 17 districts did not record any new cases.


Of the total cases, 49 stemmed from close contacts, 31 from existing clusters, 25 from symptomatic screening and one from other categories.


Masidi who is also Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson mentioned that one fatality related to Covid-19 was recorded today in Tawau.



To date, the number of active cases stands at 566 with the latest addition of caseload while 62 patients have been discharged, bringing the cumulative total of statewide recoveries to 54,359.


"A total of 253 patients are being treated at the hospitals, including 13 out of 39 ventilated in the intensive care unit (ICU), while the rest are treated in the quarantine centres."
