Sabahans to enjoy extra holiday on April 21

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah will have an additional public holiday on April 21, the State Government announced on Tuesday.

The decision was made in accordance with the Sabah Public Holiday Ordinance, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor.

He added that the Federal Government had earlier declared either Friday (April 21) or Monday (April 24) as a public holiday depending on when 1 Syawal falls.

The public holiday is meant to celebrate the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting and prayer.
