SAVI to organise charity art exhibition on Feb 20-24

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Association for the Vision Impaired (SAVI) is organising a charity art exhibition in efforts to aid vision-impaired people in Sabah.
The event, which will take place at Center Point Shopping Mall’s Palm Square, will start from February 20th and end on the 24th.
According to Sabrina Stawin, SAVI's president, the exhibition will feature a total of 120 paintings, each unique and captivating. The paintings will range in price from RM100 to RM5000.
Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, will also display ten of his hand-drawn paintings at the gallery, adding an exciting touch to the event.
Sabrina said the State Tourism, Culture, and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew is expected to officiate the ceremony.
The public is invited to attend the event free of charge, which will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The exhibition will also artists such as Awang Abdul Hamid, Benedict Chong, Richard Lim, Patrick, Hilda Kunau, and Halim, who will showcase their breathtaking works of art.
Awang Abdul Hamid, a former schoolteacher, is a well-known artist whose works have been showcased at the National Art Gallery and Sabah Art Gallery. He has also hosted solo art exhibitions at various venues in Sabah, including the Sutera Harbour Resort and Promenade Hotel.
