KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor revealed that two Sabah ministries have changed its name with the approval of the State Cabinet.

In a statement today, he said that the approval was made during the State Cabinet weekly meeting.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries is now known as the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry (Maffi) while the Ministry of Industrial Development is now called the Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship.

He explained that the Cabinet approved the name change so that the objective, function and role of the  ministries would be clearer, particularly on food security, and the importance of entrepreneurs including small and medium ones is reflected.

In line with the reshuffling of the State Cabinet and restructuring of the Federal one, Hajiji said the State Government had also decided to align the jurisdiction of each State Cabinet member to the respective Federal ministries in Sabah.
