22 Feb 2021 By Ilona Andrew KOTA KINABALU: Students returning to school and hostel on March 1 are not required to undergo Covid-19 screening, said Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun. In a press conference today, he said all they have to do is undergo the Covid-19 risk assessment before they enter the school compound. "The Ministry of Education has issued the School Management and Operations Under the New Norm 2.0 guideline to curb the spread of Covid-19 among students. "They are required to comply with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by the National Security Council and the Ministry of Health at all times when in school or hostel," he said. Masidi also mentioned that the State Government will make thorough consideration on whether teachers with health comorbidities and other risk factors should receive the Covid-19 vaccine on the first phase.
