Sumbilingon's road in the making

KOTA BELUD: There are roads in Kg.Sumbilingon, Kota Belud, in the Kadamaian Constituency that need to be upgraded.
According to Laudi Gingging, the Village Security and Development Chairman two kilometres of road will be upgraded soon.
This is made possible by a contribution of RM20,000 by Kadamaian State Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick to the village.
"We are grading the roads that are overgrown with grass and weeds," he said adding that there are also roads going to farmland that are overgrown.
The village with a population of 400 over people are mostly rubber tappers and used to be paddy farmers too.
There used to be paddy fields there but those are overgrown too as they haven't planted paddy for a long time, he shares.
"We want to clear back the land for our paddy cultivation but we will have to start from basic clearing due to it being so overgrown," he said.
He shares that the village is conducive as a tourist destination due to the beauty of nature there.
"We will look into opening up trails for trekkers. There are many spots there that will be of great interest such as a magnificent view of Mt. Kinabalu."
He expresses his wish to progress his village in future.
He thanked Kadamaian Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick for his kind assistance stressing that the funds are very helpful.
As their representative, the community is grateful to have him advocating for their needs and concerns.
Datuk Ewon Benedick is also the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative.
