KOTA KINABALU: Tuaran MP Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau called on the Sabah Water Department (JANS) to take proactive measures in solving the water woes in Taman Putera Jaya Telipok.
He said some of his constituents residing in that housing area have been complaining about their water shortage plights that have been going on for the past five days.

"I have contacted the management of Taman Putera Jaya. They said pleas have been made to JANS but (they were informed that) the main problem is insufficient water sources.
"Of course such an answer would not be able to meet the urgent needs of the population. No human can live without water.
"Therefore, I call on and request JANS to improve its administration by pulling up its stocks and distribute them to the residents using water tankers, or any means," he said in his Facebook posting today.
Madius asserted that it is time for the government to step up its game in solving the water woes affecting the residential area as well as Taman Sri Rugading, Taman Telipok Ria and Bandar Sierra.
"This problem has been going on for so long. The government should take drastic measures to put an end to it," he stated, adding that allocations to the needy should also be prioritised.
