‘TUKAR-TUKAR BAJU SEKOLAH’ GIVES PARENTS OPPORTUNITY TO DONATE

KOTA KINABALU: Last year's school session, which was more concentrated at home and implemented online, sparked the idea of a 'Tukar-Tukar Baju Sekolah' activity, a platform for that gives parents the opportunity to donate or exchange school uniforms.

Online seller Ujye Rohimin said parents can donate or exchanged unused school uniforms particularly those in Sabah who are more in need.

"As we all know, last year our children only managed to attend school for several months while the rest of the time they participated in online classes at home. Of course, there are school uniforms that don't fit anymore.

"Therefore, it is better for us to donate or exchange school necessities with those in need rather than just throw them away and this can save the financial burden of the parents involved," she said when contacted by Nabalu News here today.

According to her, the idea to implement this activity occurred when her friend in the peninsula organised an activity called 'Let Go Barang/Baju Sekolah 2021' via the Telegram app.

"When I saw that many were interested to exchange school necessities, I decided to set up a Facebook group with the name 'Tukar Tukar Baju Sekolah (Sabah)' last December.

"This is to help ease parents, particularly in Sabah, with school children. Thankfully until now, this activity has been well-received.

The Facebook page group has garnered over 400 members from around the Sabah and the selling products are limited to school uniforms, school bags, school shoes and more.
