TWO NEW COVID-19 CLUSTERS IN LAHAD DATU

KOTA KINABALU: Two more new Covid-19 clusters were detected in Sabah today, involving the Lahad Datu district.
Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said, the clusters are known as the 'Ladang Segama' cluster and 'Jalan Segama' cluster.
For Ladang Segama cluster, the minister said there are a cumulative total of 22 positive cases, including 16 new cases reported today.
"The index cluster for this case was detected through workplace screening under the SOCSO programme on Jan 16.
"Close contacts have been identified and the cause of infection is still under investigation," he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, the Jalan Segama cluster registered seven new cases today, bringing the cumulative total of positive cases of the cluster to 20.
"The index case of this cluster was detected through a symptomatic individuals screening on Jan 19.
"Close contact screening is still being conducted under the Lahad Datu EPF programme."
To date, Sabah has recorded a total of 46,791 Covid-19 cases, including 431 reported today.
Two Covid-19 deaths were also recorded, each in Kalabakan and Beluran.
