TWO WEEKS' EMCO IN KG SINSINGON, KG -LOTONG STARTING FEB 27

KOTA KINABALU: Following a surge of Covid-19 cases, a two weeks' implementation of Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) has been declared in Kg Sinsingon and Kg Lotong Nabawan, beginning today (Feb 27).
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said Covid-19 infections were detected in the Sinsingon cluster in both of the localities.
"The government has agreed to impose the EMCO in Kg Sinsingon and Kg Lotong, Nabawan from Feb 27 to March 12.
"This was followed by risk assessment conducted with various agencies in the MCO Technical Committee and upon the advice of the Ministry of Health (MoH)," he said in a statement today.
According to Masidi, the implementation in the localities is to allow MoH to conduct targeted screening on all residents as well as to curb the spread of Covid-19 among the community.
