KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his entire cabinet to resign from their posts with dignity following the royal rebuke over the Perikatan Nasional government's mishandling of the Emergency Ordinances revocation.
Its deputy Wira and Wirawati chiefs Mohd Ismail Ayob and Jo-anna Henley Rampas said it is unbecoming for the government to defy the royal rebuke by the King over the matter of misleading parliament.
"We as Malaysians highly regard the pillars of the nation and of which, the third pillar is the supremacy of the Malaysian Constitution.
"What the government has done is disrespectful to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and an attempt to deceive the people of Malaysia," they said in a joint statement.
On July 26, de facto law minister Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan announced that the Emergency Ordinances had been revoked five days prior.
However, Istana Negara revealed that the decision did not receive any written consent from the King.
"This clearly goes against Article 150 (3) of the Federal Constitution and hence, an insult to the monarchy."
Ismail and Jo-anna also mentioned that the government has abused the parliamentary session to stubbornly remain in power even though it failed to manage the Covid-19 pandemic.
"The current government is too involved in politicking instead of consolidating resources and collaborating with the country's experts to fight the unseen enemy."
