AirAsia offers low fares to Sabah and Sarawak for Aidilfitri celebration

SEPANG: Transport Minister Anthony Loke has announced that AirAsia is offering promotional fares for one-way flights to Sabah and Sarawak in conjunction with the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration.

The fares are RM348 for flights from Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru to Sabah, and RM298 for flights to Sarawak.

This initiative is expected to benefit 22,000 passengers and involve 122 late-night flights to 11 destinations between the Peninsula and the two states.

The promotional fares can be booked from now until April 17 through the AirAsia website and the AirAsia Move app.

The RM348 fare is applicable for flights from Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru to Sabah, including Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, and Sandakan.

For flights departing from the same cities to Sarawak, the fare is RM298 for travel to Kuching, Miri, Bintulu, and Sibu.

Compared to last year's fares during the Aidilfitri period, AirAsia has offered a larger discount this year. Last year, the maximum fare for one-way flights from KLIA to East Malaysia before the Aidilfitri celebration was RM599.

Loke stated that the government is committed to facilitating air travel for Malaysians by providing reasonable and affordable fares.

He expressed his support for AirAsia's fixed fares initiative for the upcoming Hari Raya celebration, emphasising the government's efforts to ensure the well-being of Malaysians.
