SANDAKAN: SJKC Chi Hwa organised the "Gold Kris Badge Camp" over two days and one night from 18 to 19 April 2026, involving 17 Year Six Junior Scouts.
The programme was arranged by the SJKC Chi Hwa Scout Association and conducted jointly by 16 Sandakan district KMK leaders, aiming to help pupils complete advanced training and prepare for the Junior Scout Proficiency Badge.
The Scout Movement, founded in 1907, has now spanned over a century.
In Malaysia, Scouting has a long history too. Since its establishment in 1912, SJK(C) Chi Hwa has remained committed to shaping pupils' character and leadership through Scouting activities, reflecting a strong tradition of education and Scouting.

This Gold Kris Badge Camp is the final advanced training for Junior Scouts, emphasising assessments in leadership, community service, outdoor skills, and first aid knowledge.
Throughout the programme, pupils carried out various practical tasks to boost discipline, teamwork, and resilience in facing challenges.
Notably, this year, 17 pupils successfully completed all badge levels, from Proficiency Badge, Bronze Kris, Silver Kris, to Gold Kris, over four years, setting a school record and a proud achievement.
School Management Board Chairman Chan Tzun Hei, in his speech, stated that camps like this are not just co-curricular activities but vital platforms for building character and resilience in pupils.
He encouraged pupils to leverage this experience to continue demonstrating discipline, courage, and team spirit in the future.
The school also extended highest appreciation to the organisers, Scout leaders, and all teachers for their efforts and commitment.
Barmuli Parudin, Sabah State Assistant Commissioner of Scouts, hoped the SJK(C) Chi Hwa Scout Association would keep striving and challenging itself for even greater success ahead.
Through this camp, pupils gained invaluable experience while laying a solid foundation for advancing to higher levels.
