Donation by NGO benefitted pupils from three schools

KOTA KINABALU: The "Jom Balik Sekolah" programme was conducted today in SK Rangalau, SK Toguson, and Sk Melangkap Kota Belud.


There were 189 recipients in Melangkap, 94 recipients in Rangalau and 89 recipients in Toguson.


The programme was organised by The Society of Hope Sabah, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to improving the lives of children from underprivileged communities, specifically those in the B40 category.

"Our aim this year is to distribute 3,000 school bags to students from B40 communities across various districts in Sabah," said Josephine Hadikusumo, the president of the organisation.


"We are also awarding 40 scholarships to consistently high-performing students from hardcore poor communities to encourage them to continue their education and excel academically."


Carlye Lajimin Information chief of Kadamaian Constituency (DUN) accompanied the group that contributed to this noble cause.
