PENAMPANG: The United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) Penampang Youth Generation (Gen-M) successfully organised a Mobile Legends Tournament in the Moyog constituency, providing not only entertainment but also a platform to unite young people while fostering confidence, strategic thinking, and teamwork.

The tournament was officiated by the Chief of UPKO Penampang Division, Datuk Donald Mojuntin, emphasised that Mobile Legends instils valuable lessons in the younger generation about the true meaning of victory.

“Victory is not simply about being the strongest, but about being the smartest, most focused, and able to work effectively as a team,” he said.

He further stressed that the qualities gained through the game can also be applied in life.

“We need vision, discipline, and fighting spirit to succeed. The youth, aged 18 to 30, are the true heroes of this generation. If you can become an ‘MVP’ in the game, you can also be an ‘MVP’ (Most Valuable Player) in society, whether in education, careers, the digital economy, or community leadership,” he added.

Donald also called for the competition to be viewed as training for both the mind and spirit of young people, encouraging them to be not only skilled in the virtual world but also bold enough to bring positive change to the real world.

“Do not fear failure, because every defeat is an opportunity to learn. What matters most is to fight with determination, never give up, and believe in your potential. May the youth spirit continue to burn brightly, and may we all become champions, not only in the Mobile Legends arena, but also in life,” he said.
