KENINGAU: Keningau’s K3D Football Club (FC) is gearing up for its biggest outing yet, with two coaches and seven players set to join FCA Malaysia in the 2025 Southeast Asia FCA Football Championship, scheduled to take place in Ipoh, Perak from 28 July to 1 August.
Founded in 2018, K3D FC continues to grow as a grassroots powerhouse, and its latest selection to the national FCA squad marks a significant milestone for the club and the district’s football development. The tournament will see community clubs from across Southeast Asia competing in a showcase of emerging football talent.
K3D FC’s participation received a timely boost with a contribution from Liawan State Assemblyman, Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman, handed over in a brief ceremony at the Liawan Community Development Leader Unit (UPPM) office by Patikang Subdistrict Officer, Mohd Zailani Abdullah.
Club representative Simplisius Pitus Pati was present to receive the support on behalf of the team.
“This support gives us a tremendous morale lift as we prepare for the championship,” said Simplisius.
“We are truly grateful to Datuk Annuar for backing our journey and believing in the potential of local youth to shine on a bigger stage.”
FCA Malaysia is a united front of seven community football clubs from Terengganu, Selangor, Perak, Melaka, and Johor, formed to provide grassroots players with regional and international exposure. The addition of K3D FC players and coaches is expected to bolster the Malaysian squad’s performance.
K3D FC’s involvement highlights the growing significance of grassroots football and underlines the importance of continued community and political support in nurturing local sporting talent.
