KUALA LUMPUR:  This year, Taobao Malaysia is proactively transforming the annual 11.11 Shopping Festival into a more accessible and inclusive experience than ever before. For the first time, shoppers can enjoy the iconic 11.11 Sale in three languages, English, Chinese, and Malay, empowering Malaysians to browse and purchase effortlessly in their preferred language.

Since its launch by Taobao in 2009, the 11.11 Sale has evolved into the world's largest online shopping event, surpassing Black Friday in both scale and participation. This year, Taobao is energising the festival with exclusive early-bird deals starting from 20 October through 14 November. Shoppers can look forward to sitewide discounts of up to 15%, expanded payment options, and special perks tailored for new users, ensuring everyone is encouraged and empowered to seize the best deals.

“Since launching our Malay-language interface earlier this year, we have witnessed incredible engagement and received a great deal of positive feedback from local users," said Jess Lew, Country Head of Taobao Malaysia. "This 11.11, we are making Taobao even more localized, supporting MYR payments and expanding to sixteen Malaysian online banking options for a seamless checkout experience, implementing a straightforward local return process for items labelled for local returns, and launching more content and promotions, particularly in the Taobao Malay version. We have curated the best experience to give Malaysians the ultimate shopping journey they have been waiting for.

“Taobao Malaysia offers over ten million ways to style your home, more than 300 fashion styles for your outfit of the day, over two million sports essentials, and millions of unique finds for special moments. Whether you're looking for something quirky or essential, Taobao makes shopping simple, affordable, and enjoyable for everyone in Malaysia.”

The 2025 11.11 Festival begins on 20 October at 8pm and runs until midnight of 14 November 2025. Shoppers can enjoy unbeatable prices across over a million products, including fashion, home and lifestyle items, hobby picks, sports essentials, outdoor must-haves, toys, pet accessories, and more, all displayed in MYR for added convenience.

This year’s event features sitewide discounts of up to 15%, allowing shoppers to save significantly across all categories. Every day, free shipping vouchers can be claimed, providing even more value. New users can enjoy deals starting from as low as RM1 and access exclusive perks worth up to RM65. There is also free shipping available with a minimum spend of RM129, along with instant rebates of up to RM35 and transaction fee waivers of up to RM12 daily. Additionally, limited bank promotion discounts of up to RM50 are available, and this 11.11, Taobao has expanded its list of local banking options to include 16 Malaysian banks, such as Affin Bank, Agro Bank, Alliance Bank, Bank Islam, Bank Muamalat, Bank Rakyat, Bank Simpanan Nasional, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, and UOB Bank, for seamless online transactions.

Taobao continues to refine its platform for Malaysian users by integrating AI-powered translations and a localisation of the app experience. Users can now browse, search by images, and shop in Malay or English, making the shopping experience more intuitive and accessible.

For bulk purchases of home furniture, Taobao plans to pilot value-added services such as furniture installation, which will soon be available, starting in the Klang Valley area.

Adding a playful dimension to the 11.11 Mega Sale, Taobao Malaysia introduces Taobao Wonderland, an interactive, gamified shopping experience where users can check in daily to collect up to 6,000 Super Coins and enjoy instant rebates with Super Coins at checkout during the event. The game will be available in both English and Malay.

Recognising the rise of affiliate marketing, Taobao Malaysia now offers Malaysians the opportunity to earn more every day through a simple "Share and Earn" programme, featuring stackable commissions and bonuses of up to RM26 per new user referral, along with product-based commissions of up to 30%. This enables shoppers to earn extra income while sharing great finds with their community. To get started, simply enter [AFFILIATE] in the Taobao app search box.

"This year's campaign reflects our dedication to connecting with every Malaysian across languages, lifestyles, and interests," added Jess. "Whatever you’re looking for, Taobao has it. Everything and anything you can think of—find it all on Taobao."

The Taobao app is free to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Shoppers can also enjoy special 11.11 savings by using the promo code TB1111DEAL to get RM15 off on a minimum spend of RM150.
