Sabah records RM7.6 billion in manufacturing investments in 2025

10 OCTOBER 2026
KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said Sabah recorded RM7.6 billion in manufacturing investments last year, signalling strong industrial momentum and investor confidence.
He said that in the same period, Sabah entrepreneurs also reached out internationally, with 124 Sabah Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) entrepreneurs taking part in 18 international trade expos and generating RM95.9 million in potential sales.
"We want more local businesses to build their capabilities, embrace technology and innovation, and compete in regional and international markets," he said.

The State Government will continue to foster an environment that supports investment, innovation, skills development and entrepreneurship, he said at the Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) Nite at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here tonight.
Deputy Chief Minister/Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship, and Transport Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick delivered his speech.
Hajiji said the State Government cannot build Sabah's economy alone, and industry cannot progress in isolation.
"Strong collaboration is essential. I hope FSI will remain a united voice for Sabah's industries and an effective bridge between the Government and the private sector.
"Its continued success also depends on the active participation, ideas and commitment of all its members." he said.
In this regard, Hajiji said the State Government looks forward to working with FSI and the wider business community towards a more competitive, resilient and prosperous Sabah.
The Chief Minister said the FSI also plays an important role in helping manufacturers and industry players adapt to artificial intelligence (Al), automation and digitalisation.
"For more than four decades, it has united manufacturers and industry players, represented their interests and provided a valuable link between the Government and the private sector.
"The Sabah International Expo (SIE) shows what this collaboration can achieve. Following the successful conclusion of SIE 2026 in September, I congratulate the organising committees of FSI and MICCI, with the support of the State Government, on connecting Sabah businesses with investors, trade delegations and international markets." he said.
"Congratulations to FSI on its 43rd anniversary. May the Federation continue to strengthen Sabah's industries, create opportunities for its members and contribute to the State's economic progress," he said.
