Sports get a boost with contribution

PENAMPANG: Penampang Member of Parliament (MP), Datuk Ewon Benedick contributed monetary funds to a Penampang sports team to enable them to compete in an inter-district meet.

An officer from the Penampang Parliament Service Centre, Belly Stephen presented the contribution on behalf of the MP.

The team will proudly represent the Penampang district in the upcoming Tug of War SATWA CUP 2024 competition, set to take place in Keningau on December 7-8.

During the event, the team will be going against teams from 15 other districts, with three categories of event. This includes senior men combining 680 kilogrammes (kg), Senior Women combining 560 kg and U21 or under 21 years at 600 kg.

This generous support not only enhances the team's preparation for the competition but also underscores the strong spirit of community and sportsmanship within the Penampang district.

The team is enthusiastic about the opportunity to showcase their skills and determination, and they are aiming for success in this event.
