KUALA LUMPUR: TEIZA, a blockchain company backed by the Finran Group, has announced the formation of the Malaysia Blockchain Consortium, marking a significant milestone in the country’s digital transformation journey. The historic memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony brought together 19 leading organisations from the finance, government, enterprise, and technology sectors to establish Malaysia’s largest institutional blockchain ecosystem.

The Malaysia Blockchain Consortium signifies an unprecedented collaboration aimed at establishing national blockchain standards, accelerating adoption across key sectors, and positioning Malaysia as Southeast Asia’s premier blockchain hub. The consortium unites financial institutions, government technology providers, fintech innovators, trading platforms, and infrastructure specialists under a shared vision for blockchain-driven innovation.

“The Malaysia Blockchain Consortium represents more than just a technological partnership, it is a national initiative,” said Daler Fayziev, Executive Chairman of the Finran Group. “By bringing together leaders from diverse sectors, we are creating an ecosystem where blockchain innovation can thrive, enabling Malaysian businesses to compete globally and allowing citizens to benefit from more transparent, efficient, and secure services.”

The 19 founding partners of the consortium span eight critical verticals, including Digital Finance, Digital Economy, Digital Society, Digital Government, Digital Markets, Digital Ventures, Digital Infrastructure, and TEIZA’s Layer 1 Commercial Platform. These organisations bring specialised expertise in fintech innovation, enterprise solutions, government technology, trading platforms, investment ecosystems, and computational infrastructure, forming a comprehensive blockchain ecosystem designed to serve Malaysia’s diverse economic and social needs.

Within these sectors, the consortium’s efforts will focus on developing standards for technical and operational implementation across Malaysian industries, creating seamless interoperability frameworks that enable different blockchain applications to communicate and transact smoothly, and collaborating closely with government agencies to formulate clear, innovation-friendly regulations. Additionally, the consortium aims to build Malaysia’s blockchain talent pool through education, training, and knowledge-sharing programmes, while deploying practical blockchain solutions that address real-world business and societal challenges.

Harpreet Singh Maan, CEO of TEIZA, stated, “The core ethos of the Malaysia Blockchain Consortium is collaborative, co-owned, and co-governed. We are building shared technological infrastructure that delivers real value to all Malaysians. It’s about uniting diverse organisations to harness blockchain’s transformative potential, laying the foundations for Malaysia’s leadership in blockchain innovation.”

The signing ceremony, held at Finran Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur, featured presentations on TEIZA and blockchain solutions, alongside a panel discussion titled “Digital Nexus: Forging the Malaysia Blockchain Consortium.” The panel included Calvin Ng (General Partner, Plutus VC), Kaizer (Head of Business Development, Aethir Edge), and Harpreet Singh Maan (CEO, TEIZA), exploring the consortium’s vision, TEIZA’s multi-layer architecture, cross-sector collaboration opportunities, and key milestones for advancing institutional blockchain adoption in Malaysia.

Moving forward, the consortium will focus on immediate initiatives such as developing interoperability standards, launching pilot programmes for government services, and introducing blockchain-enabled financial platforms. Collaboration will take place through regular working group sessions, quarterly summits, and joint research and development projects, all aimed at positioning Malaysia as a leader in blockchain innovation.
