UPKO Youth Exco Pays Courtesy Visit to Datuk Ewon Benedick

KOTA KINABALU: The United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation ( UPKO) Youth Executive Committee (Exco), led by its chief Felix Joseph Saang, paid a courtesy visit to Datuk Ewon Benedick the Sabah Deputy Chief Minister III and State Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MINDET) on Wednesday.
The courtesy call was aimed at strengthening ties and enhancing cooperation between UPKO’s youth leadership and the Sabah state government.
During the meeting, Ewon who is also UPKO President shared insights on the ministry’s policy direction, including the implementation of the Sabah First agenda, and highlighted the strategic role of youth in driving the state’s development.
Discussions also focused on the importance of youth involvement in the industrial, entrepreneurial and transport sectors, in line with the state government’s efforts to develop a competitive and resilient younger generation.
Felix expressed appreciation to Ewon for receiving the delegation and said the Youth Exco had conveyed proposals and aspirations during its recent meeting.
He also encouraged members of the Youth Exco to take up opportunities available under the ministry’s programmes, particularly in entrepreneurship, industrial development and business.
Felix added that, as UPKO Youth Chief, he would fully support proposals submitted by the Youth Exco to Ewon, while reaffirming the movement’s commitment to strengthening the Sabah First agenda.
The courtesy visit underscored UPKO Youth’s commitment to ensuring that the voices and aspirations of young people remain an integral part of Sabah’s development planning and policy implementation.
