369 HOMES HIT BY FLOODS IN LAHAD DATU

LAHAD DATU: The Taman Khazanah Indah residential area here was hit by floods after a heavy downpour this evening caused a river nearby to overflow its banks.

Some 1,632 people from 369 households in the area were affected after floodwaters began entering their homes.

Lahad Datu Civil Defence Force officer Lieutenant Asby Mohd Anwar said there have been no evacuations so far and the affected residents have moved their vehicles to higher ground and switched off electrical appliances to prevent untoward incidences.

“The relevant enforcement bodies are on standby and are monitoring the situation closely,” he told Bernama when contacted. -Bernama
