KOTA KINABALU: The Jiu Wang Da Di parade, organised by Sabah Nam Tien Kong, has evolved into a significant tourism event.

Dato’ Seri Winston Liaw, Chairman of the Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Satta), noted that the program has transitioned from being solely a religious festival to a key highlight on the Sabah Tourism Board’s calendar of events.

“This cultural celebration has become a major tourism attraction, showcasing the state’s rich religious diversity to international visitors,” Liaw remarked.

His comments followed a courtesy visit to Deputy Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Chan Foong Hin, who has been invited to officiate the event on October 6 at Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu.

The parade will feature participation from various temples and will include a procession from Padang Merdeka to the Oceanus shopping mall, continuing through Lintas and Damai, and concluding at the Foh Sang commercial center.

A series of activities are scheduled to take place from October 3 to 11. Also present at the meeting was Philip Chang, Chairman of Nam Tien Kong.
