PENAMPANG: Malaysia’s Women’s Bodybuilding Champion, Meilaura Dora Jimmy, expressed her deepest gratitude for the continuous support and contributions of Datuk Ewon Benedick. As a token of appreciation, she brought along the medals and trophies she recently won at the 57th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, which concluded last week.
Meilaura achieved three notable milestones:
• Gold Medal (Women’s Bodybuilding up to 55kg)
• Most Improved Athlete Award
• 5th Place (Mixed Pairs)
She presented the medals and trophies at the P.174 Penampang People’s Service Centre, sharing her victory with the staff there as a gesture of celebrating the success together, while acknowledging their unwavering service under the leadership of Datuk Ewon Benedick.

In an interview, Meilaura said that although she understands Datuk Ewon’s schedule is extremely tight, she continues to hold him in the highest respect. She added that if given the opportunity in the future, she would gladly celebrate her victory directly with him and once again bring along her medals and trophies for a memorable photo together. To her, this triumph is not only a personal achievement but also a proud victory for the Penampang District and the state of Sabah.
Meilaura also expressed her admiration for Ewon’s commitment to championing the people’s cause. She further conveyed her gratitude for his support, which enabled her upcoming meeting with the Malaysia Bodybuilding Team and the Youth and Sports Minister, Hannah Yeoh, at Menara KBS, Putrajaya, on 9 September 2025.
Also present at the photo session with Meilaura and the People’s Service Centre staff were Billy Jinawat, Committee Member of the Sabah Bodybuilding Association (SBBA), and his colleague Terry Lebit.
