CHERY Malaysia Champions Ocean Conservation with Coral Restoration Initiative

KOTA BELUD: In a powerful display of environmental responsibility, CHERY Malaysia has set a shining example for the automotive industry by taking its commitment to sustainability far beyond the road.

Partnering with the One Ocean Nature Conservation Centre on Usukan Island, Kota Belud, Sabah, CHERY Malaysia’s 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative brought together 30 dedicated team members who rolled up their sleeves and literally dived in to help restore marine life beneath the waves.

The outcome was impressive: 135 coral fragments were propagated and secured in CHERY’s adopted coral nursery, forming the foundation of a thriving reef ecosystem that will be safeguarded and monitored for years to come. This initiative does more than plant corals, it plants hope, biodiversity, and resilience in our oceans.

“With Chery, With Love, we are proving that corporate impact can be as deep as the ocean,” said Monica Chin, Founder and Managing Director of One Ocean Nature Conservation Centre.

“If one company can take responsibility for part of our ocean’s future, imagine the change we could create if the entire automotive industry united for the same cause.”
