TONGOD: Former headmaster of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Ansuan, George Odol stressed that the use of United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO), own logo best reflects the party’s identity, stance, and struggle as a local party in negotiating Sabah’s rights with the Malaysian unity government.
George who previously went viral for living in a preschool storeroom, officially joined the party recently.
He said that the consistent use of the party logo also helps to dispel allegations from certain quarters that UPKO is merely a vehicle of Peninsular-based parties.
“This is a clear demonstration that UPKO is capable of projecting its identity as a local party that can work hand-in-hand with Pakatan Harapan (PH) to safeguard the welfare of all communities in Sabah, regardless of ethnic background or belief,” he said.
At the same time, George noted that such a move could prevent confusion among voters who have long been influenced by irresponsible parties attempting to foster rejection and hostility towards parties from across the peninsula.
