DAILY COVID-19 INFECTIONS IN INDONESIA SURGE TO ALMOST 13,000 CASES

JAKARTA: COVID-19 infections in Indonesia continued to soar to worrying level after daily new cases exceeded 12,000 cases today.

After hitting 11,557 cases yesterday, the republic reported a record 12,818 new cases in the past 24 hours.

According data published in the official Indonesian government website on COVID-19, covid19.go.id. today, the overall positive cases now stood at 882,418 cases while the total death rose to 25,484 people after recording 238 more fatalities.

The province of Jakarta remained as the province with the highest infections at 220,434 cases while East Java has the most fatalities with 6,779 COVID-19 deaths. - Bernama
