KOTA KINABALU: DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY) Sabah Chief, Chan Loong Wei, has urged all e-hailing drivers in the state who are facing difficulties or delays in receiving the BUDI MADANI (BUDI95) fuel subsidy to come forward and seek assistance.
Chan said he is prepared to help affected drivers verify their eligibility and facilitate their applications to the Ministry of Finance (MoF) through the appropriate channels.
“We have received several complaints from e-hailing drivers who have yet to receive their subsidies despite being active on the platforms. Many are unclear about the appeal process or the documents required. We are here to help ensure their applications are properly submitted and followed up,” he said.
Chan welcomed the recent announcement by the Ministry of Finance to increase the subsidised fuel allocation for e-hailing drivers from 300 litres to 600 litres per month, describing it as a positive step that acknowledges the challenges faced by drivers amid rising fuel and living costs.
However, he also called on E-Hailing Operators (EHOs) such as Grab, InDriver, and AirAsia Ride to promptly submit their drivers’ applications to the MoF to avoid unnecessary delays and burdens on those who depend on the subsidy for their daily livelihood.
“E-hailing drivers play an essential role in our urban transport system and local economy. The government has done its part by expanding the subsidy, now the operators must ensure no driver is left behind due to administrative or system delays,” Chan stressed.
Drivers who require assistance with their BUDI95 application or appeal process may contact or message 011-2669 5012 for direct support.
