KOTA BELUD: Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Ewon Benedick delivered educational aid contributions to 33 primary and secondary schools in the Kadamaian State Constituency.

He said the educational aid amounting to RM180,000 was donated by the Bank Rakyat Foundation (YBR), an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDC).

"Of this amount, secondary schools receive RM10,000 each and RM5,000 for each primary school, similar to the initial educational aid we distributed last year.

"This is a continuation of my responsibility in the ministry and as the representative of this area's constituents to ensure that education is given appropriate attention besides prioritising entrepreneurial and cooperative development.

"As long as I am in the ministry, I will ensure that YBR continues to provide aid like this and other assistance for school students," he said.

He said this while delivering a speech at the Handover Ceremony of Aid to Schools in the Kadamaian State Constituency and Cooperative Vans Aid in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee of the Establishment of Tambulion National Secondary School (SMK), at the Stalion Hall of SMK Tambulion, here, today.

Ewon said that in order to address several school issues in the Kota Belud area, particularly in Kadamaian, he will bring the Minister of Education to visit several schools here.

"I will bring the Minister of Education to visit a secondary school, a primary school, and a national-type school representing school issues in the Kota Belud area.

"I have chosen SMK Narinang, which faces student congestion issues and requires long-term solutions. Then, we will visit SK Tamu Darat for school building upgrades requiring ministry intervention, followed by SRA Rangalau on the same day.

"This is my solution and commitment to bring the best services to the people of this area, and hopefully pave the way for larger solutions in the future, in line with the Kadamaian Development Plan that we have launched and used as a guide for developing Kadamaian," he said.

Additionally, he said he will also bring the Federal Minister of Tourism and the Minister of Agriculture to find solutions to tourism and agriculture-related issues such as the aspirations of the people of Kadamaian within the Kadamaian Development Plan.

Also present were the Chairman of Bank Rakyat Foundation Datuk Philip Lasimbang, YBR’s Chief Executive Officer Syaiful Rizal Abdul Ghani, Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM) Rusli Jaafar, Director of SKM Sabah Matias Kundapin, and Principal of SMK Tambulion Nasdin Pumpunga.
