KUALA LUMPUR: GAC made a striking debut at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 at MAEPS, on May 8, unveiling a brand-new line-up of five models, including its first plug-in hybrid MPV—the M8 PHEV—now open for pre-orders. The unveiling garnered significant attention from both industry insiders and consumers alike.
As one of the event’s major exhibitors, GAC showcased a grand and futuristic booth, vividly demonstrating its technological prowess and innovation capabilities.
The company introduced a comprehensive range of five models spanning petrol, hybrid, and electric vehicles. Among the highlights was the M8 PHEV, which seamlessly combines the efficiency of electric driving with the versatility of a combustion engine—adapting effortlessly from daily commuting to long-distance travel.
Its debut immediately captured the spotlight. The innovative HYPTEC HT, available in both gullwing and standard door configurations, impressed attendees with its sci-fi aesthetics and intelligent cockpit. Meanwhile, the AION V, GAC’s pure electric SUV, showcased impressive extended-range performance, pushing the boundaries of EV travel.
During the event, representatives from GAC INTERNATIONAL and its dealership partners jointly unveiled the M8 PHEV, with GAC brand ambassador Jack Lim making a special appearance. This followed his earlier visit to GAC’s R&D centre and manufacturing facilities, where he experienced autonomous driving features and observed a flying car prototype.
At the show, Lim expressed his admiration for GAC’s smart technologies and shared his excitement for the brand’s future development.
GAC’s presence at Malaysia Autoshow 2025 exemplifies its commitment to “dual-brand synergy and shared technology,” embodying the “One GAC 2.0” strategy. As a key hub of the ASEAN economy, Malaysia plays a vital role in GAC’s global roadmap. By leveraging localised production, an extensive sales network, and the success of domestically adapted models, GAC has built sustained momentum in the Malaysian market.
Looking ahead, the company plans to further strengthen its foundation of “Top-tier Quality and Pioneering Technology,” accelerating the rollout of new energy and hybrid models, deepening collaborative innovation with local partners, and embedding its “service-first, customer-first” philosophy into Malaysia’s mobility landscape. Through resource integration and a focus on creating local value, GAC aims to reinforce its presence and contribute meaningfully to Malaysia’s automotive industry.
