KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has made a historic leap into the digital banking era with the launch of Ryt Bank, the world’s first AI-powered bank developed by Malaysians for Malaysians. Spearheaded by the YTL Group in collaboration with Sea Limited, Ryt Bank signifies a bold step forward in integrating cutting-edge AI technology with Malaysia’s rich cultural diversity.

“Ryt Bank proves that groundbreaking innovation can be imagined, built, and led right here in Malaysia,” said Dato' Seri Yeoh Seok Hong, Managing Director of YTL Power International. “By blending our homegrown AI with the values, languages, and lifestyles of Malaysians, we’ve created a bank that truly reflects our nation, one that speaks our languages, understands our culture, and sets new standards in banking experience.”

Designed with user accessibility in mind, Ryt Bank offers in-app services in Bahasa Malaysia and English, with Mandarin support launching in September 2025. This multilingual approach ensures all Malaysians can bank comfortably in their preferred language, fostering greater inclusivity and cultural connection.

At the core of Ryt Bank is Ryt AI, Malaysia’s first locally developed large language model (LLM). This intelligent assistant comprehends natural conversations in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Manglish, enabling users to perform banking tasks effortlessly, from paying bills to tracking expenses and understanding financial concepts. Ryt AI combines convenience, security, and cultural fluency to personalize user interactions.

Ryt Bank offers a seamless platform to manage and grow your finances. Users can send money, transfer via DuitNow, pay bills instantly using chat, and access financial literacy resources, all with biometric security. They can earn up to 4% interest per annum on savings, paid daily, with no lock-in periods. The Ryt PayLater feature provides instant credit of up to RM1,499 with no documents required, zero interest if paid within a month, and cashback rewards. The Ryt Card, powered by Visa, switches between debit and credit modes, offering unlimited overseas cashback, zero foreign transaction fees, and exclusive partner discounts.

Licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia and protected by PIDM (up to RM250,000 per depositor), Ryt Bank employs advanced security features including biometric login, multi-layer encryption, and real-time fraud alerts to safeguard users’ funds.

With this innovative platform, Malaysia is setting a new standard for digital banking, one that’s inclusive, intelligent, and rooted in local culture. As the nation celebrates its independence, Ryt Bank exemplifies Malaysia’s vision for a technologically advanced, culturally connected future.
