MODERATE EARTHQUAKE HITS BANDA SEA, INDONESIA

KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate earthquake of magnitude 5.2 on the Richter scale occurred in Banda Sea, Indonesia at 1.01 pm (Malaysian local time) today.

According to a statement from the Malaysian Meteorology Department, the earthquake occurred 358km northeast from Kupang, Indonesia, at a depth of 425km.

However, there is no threat of tsunami to Malaysia. -Bernama
