MyTQA enhance services and quality of tourism products

KOTA KINABALU: The State Level Malaysia Tourism Quality Assurance (MyTQA) Certificate and Plaque Presentation Ceremony took place recently at Imago Shopping Mall, with attendees from the tourism and hospitality industry.
During the event, Imago Shopping Mall was accorded Platinum Shopping & Lifestyle Tourism.
A Gold award was accorded to Shangrila Rasa Ria Tuaran for the Meeting, Incentive, Conference & Exhibition Tourism (MICE) category while Dalit Bay Gold and Country Club was also accorded the Gold award in the Sports & Recreation Tourism.
Mari Mari Cultural Village was accorded Gold for Culture & Heritage Tourism. Galeri Azman Hashim of University Malaysia Sabah won silver for Man Made Tourism and Mengkabong Paradise was accorded Silver for Nature, Adventure & Eco-Tourism.
According to the director of Tourism Malaysia Sabah Region, Haryanty Abu Bakar the MyTQA is an initiative by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) to enhance the service and quality of tourism products in Malaysia.
“It serves as a recognition for tourism products and raises awareness among industry players to prioritize the quality of services provided. The implementation of the MyTQA program aims to increase the confidence of tourists and ensure that the quality of tourism products in Malaysia is always at its best to meet the needs of domestic and international tourists.”
According to her, the main objectives of MyTQA are establishing an Accreditation/Certification Programme as a reference mechanism for domestic and international tourists regarding the quality of tourism products in Malaysia.
It also hopes to cultivate a culture of continuous emphasis on the quality of tourism products among tourism sector entrepreneurs while enhancing the quality of tourism products in Malaysia and the quality of services offered.
In the meantime, it also increases the confidence of tourists in tourism products recognized by MyTQA.
The awards categories are Culture & Heritage Tourism, Nature, Adventure & Eco-Tourism, Man Made Tourism, Sports & Recreation Tourism, Shopping & Lifestyle Tourism and Aqua & Marine Tourism as well as Meeting, Incentive, Conference & Exhibition Tourism (MICE).
“The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC) aims for the acknowledgment of MyTQA to elevate the service quality of tourism products and boost tourists' confidence in selecting destinations endorsed by MyTQA.
"The Ministry congratulated all the winners who received MyTQA certification and recognition plaques at the State level in Sabah this year.”
MOTAC Sabah also expresses gratitude to all attendees for their support and presence at the Malaysia Tourism Quality Assurance (MyTQA) Certificate and Plaque Presentation Ceremony for the State of Sabah in 2024, she stated.
Also present during the event were Fauziahton Ag Samad who represented the City Hall Mayor, Halimah Hassan representing the Chief Executive Officer of Sabah Tourism Board and Trish Ang, the Centre Manager of Imago Shopping Mall Kota Kinabalu.
