PANDELELA OFFERS MORAL SUPPORT TO AIN HUSNIZA

KUALA LUMPUR: World Champion diver Pandelela Rinong has offered her moral support to Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam who was recently called a "satan's spawn wearing a scarf" by her school principal.

The Sarawakian athlete who recently won a gold medal in the 10m platform individual event at Fina World Cup in Tokyo, Japan through her Twitter posting said she was called a "diva" when she attempted to expose sexual harassment in the sports industry.

"Dear Ain, I strongly advise you to stay alert as you might get sabotaged if you are not careful. However keep speaking up for our future!” her tweet read.

The two-time Olympic medallist was responding to the recent comment made by Ain's school principal on her Facebook page.

In the comment, the principal called her student Ain a "hypocrite" and suggested her parents to "educate her (Ain) with manners."

Recently, Ain spoke up by posting TikTok videos detailing her experience in school in which her teacher made inappropriate rape jokes during class.

The video went viral and has caused an uproar among netizens who called for the education ministry to take action.

Through her #MakeSchoolASaferPlace online campaign, the school student has been actively raising awareness on sexual harassment through her social media.

Former Minister of Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has through his tweet called for action to be taken against the principal for her remarks.
