KENINGAU: Wiramuda Liawan today filed a police report at the Keningau District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 11:36 a.m. concerning defamatory claims circulating on social media against Liawan State Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman.
The report was lodged by Liawan UPPM Community Development Officer, Adzra Jasni @ Addy, on behalf of Annuar, after a Facebook account under the name Aiman QMan was found to have posted several defamatory comments on the “Apa Cerita Keningau” page on 24 August.
The false allegations included claims that Annuar had colluded in protecting bullies linked to the death of a student, the late Zara, and further urged voters to oust him in the upcoming State Election (PRN).
Wiramuda Liawan underscored that these accusations are baseless, malicious and clearly intended to damage the reputation and credibility Annuar while inciting public anger.
"Datuk Annuar has never been involved in the allegations mentioned. This is a clear act of political slander which could threaten social harmony. We urge the public not to be influenced by fabricated stories designed to create discord,” the spokesperson said.
In its report, Wiramuda Liawan requested the police to investigate the account holder and take action under the law. Screenshots of the defamatory comments, together with related images, were submitted as supporting evidence.
Despite such defamatory attempts, the team reiterated that Annuar remains committed to his duties in advancing development and welfare for the people of Liawan.
