KENINGAU: The launch event for the Community Navigator Book in Keningau, held recently, received an enthusiastic response with the attendance of local government agency leaders and community members.
Among those present were Florence John Luan, Station Manager of Keningau District Broadcasting (RTM); Catherine Kindasan, Assistant District Education Officer of Keningau; Mohd Noor Rizal bin Glen, Sabah State Library Branch Head in Keningau; Christine Tiffany Charlse Lohindun, Assistant District Officer of Keningau; and Noormah Tahir, Senior Assistant Administrative Officer at SMK Gunsanad II Keningau.
This book, authored by Dr. Muhd Shafeiq bin Muhammad Asri, focuses on fostering self-development among SPM graduates and youth in the rural areas of Sabah, particularly those facing challenges in determining their educational and career pathways.

The publication was produced in line with Dr. Muhd Shafeiq’s background as a Family Medicine Lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, combined with his experience in implementing community programmes in rural regions.
The event was also graced by the presence of Dato’ Seri Haji Shuib bin Nasir, a successful businessman who shared his insights on career directions in entrepreneurship. His sharing provided valuable exposure for the SPM graduates and youth present.
The launch of the Community Navigator Book in Keningau also opened opportunities for strategic collaboration between the education sector, media, and community groups to strengthen the development of Sabah’s rural youth.
The participation of various stakeholders reflects broad support for this initiative, which is expected to expand through follow-up programmes such as mentoring sessions, knowledge sharing, and community activities to better prepare young people to face future challenges.
