KENINGAU : A healthy lifestyle grounded in natural principles and community service was the main focus of a two-day Health Training Programme organised by the Health Unit of the SDA Church in the Keningau District.
Held in collaboration with the Sabah Mission, the programme was held in the Lobby Area of the SDA Church in Keningau Town on 2–3 August 2025.
The programme, which included theory sessions, demonstrations, exercises, and community activities, aimed to educate and empower church members about holistic health, encompassing physical, nutritional, and mental wellbeing.

Key highlights included ‘Peak Flow’ testing, chair therapy and hydrotherapy, Charobix exercises, healthy cooking demonstrations, and the ‘Health Age Plus’ (HAP) session, which assessed participants’ health age compared to their actual age.
Saturday evening featured a relaxed session with the ‘Step Test’ and an introduction to Charobix exercises following a communal ‘Pot Blessing’ dinner and the sundown ceremony, in keeping with the SDA Church’s emphasis on health and spirituality.
The second day began with theory and technical application sessions on HAP, light exercise, and further healthy cooking demonstrations, offering a comprehensive approach to integrating knowledge and practical aspects of a healthy lifestyle.
The programme concluded with a photo session and a communal clean-up of the church grounds, reflecting the spirit of community service that was emphasised throughout the event.
According to the Programme Coordinator, Sandy Anak Pelima, the training aimed to promote holistic health awareness among the wider community.
“Health is not just about treatment but about prevention and awareness. Through programmes like this, we aim to educate, inspire, and unite the community in a shared mission of healthy and balanced living,” she said.
