27 November 2024

RANAU: Kundasang State Assemblyman (ADUN) Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam, expressed his full support for the efforts of youth in organising sports activities that can strengthen bonds among them.

He emphasised the importance of continuing such activities to reinforce relationships among youth and create opportunities for sharing ideas and perspectives.

The Deputy Chief Minister made these remarks while officiating the District-level Volleyball Competition in Ranau, held at the Volleyball Court in Kampung Lobou Timbua.

He also congratulated the Organising Chairperson, Rienddy Wadin, and all parties involved in making the event a success.

A total of 14 youth teams participated in the competition from the Ranau district.

Meanwhile, the Patron and Advisor of the Youth Club, Sharin Mujin, thanked Dr. Joachim for his contributions to the competition.

He also expressed hope that the youth in the district would benefit from the allocations recently announced by the Minister of Finance, so that they would no longer need to migrate to the city for job opportunities.

Dr. Joachim later officiated the Close 9-a-side Football Championship for the Kundasang constituency.

The organising chairperson of the championship, Hapsin Maimin, expressed appreciation to Dr. Joachim for his contribution of trophies for the competition, as well as to all those who provided support.

On the same day, Dr. Joachim inaugurated a new suspension bridge in Kampung Lobou Timbua.

Also present at the ceremony were the Minister's wife, Datin Seri Linda Ewit, Political Secretary, Yubidi Gompoyo, Community Development Leader (PPM) for Kundasang, Dounis Sani; and several other local leaders.
