TYT’s Consort to Grace Key Events of Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2025

KOTA KINABALU: Toh Puan Datin Seri Panglima Datuk Faridah Tussin, wife of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah, is set to grace two key events of the Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2025 (UNK2025), reaffirming her continued support for one of Sabah’s most cherished cultural celebrations.

This follows a courtesy visit by the Main Organising Committee of UNK2025 to Toh Puan Faridah at the Istana Negeri. The newly appointed committee, led by Co-Chairpersons Tindarama Datuk Joanna Datuk Kitingan and Tindarama Dr Mary Gambidau, formally introduced themselves and extended invitations to Toh Puan to attend this year’s highlight events.

Toh Puan Faridah has been invited to grace the Sodop Unduk Ngadau (SUN2025) on 28 May 2025 at KDCA Hongkod Koisaan. This elegant gala evening will feature the UNK2025 finalists adorned in evening gowns crafted by local designers, blending Sabahan culture with contemporary fashion.

A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit the Huguan Siou Education and Charitable Foundation. While all banquet tables have been sold out, gallery seating (excluding meals) remains available for purchase at the KDCA office.

In addition, she is expected to grace the Grand Finale and Coronation Day on 31 May 2025, also at KDCA Hongkod Koisaan. This grand occasion will mark the culmination of the month-long Kaamatan celebrations and witness the crowning of the 2025 Unduk Ngadau — an ambassador of heritage, strength, and identity for Sabahan women.

The committee expressed their appreciation for Toh Puan Faridah’s unwavering support and presence, which continues to lend prestige and encouragement to cultural events across the state.

As preparations intensify, this year’s Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan carries the theme Kaamatan for All, embracing inclusivity, unity, and shared cultural pride across all communities in Sabah.
