KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor stated that Warisan’s Information Chief, Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman, should be grateful after the state government approved his child's scholarship.

He remarked that Azis’s actions, which not only showed a lack of gratitude but also criticized his administration, were inappropriate.

"That’s Aziz Jamman; he should be thankful. We granted his child a scholarship, and he can’t even express gratitude.

"Our intention is good, to serve and assist all our citizens in need.

"But instead of being thankful, he attacks us further. This is their attitude,” he said when met after officiating the World Engineering, Science, and Technology Congress (ESTCON) 2024 at SICC today.

He was responding to complaints from the B40 community about the difficulty in securing scholarships for their children.

They questioned the allocation of scholarships to well-off individuals, including former deputy ministers and political leaders.

Last Sunday, Hajiji revealed that the state government approved Azis’s scholarship application after the former Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and his wife met with the Chief Minister to seek support for their child's scholarship.

Hajiji highlighted this as evidence of the fairness of his administration, which does not consider political background, ethnicity, or religion when assisting the people.
