KOTA KINABALU: The Borneo International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (BICAM) has requested support from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment (KePKAS) for its upcoming BICAM Global ADR Horizons conference, scheduled to be held at a leading hotel in Kota Kinabalu in July.

A delegation from BICAM, led by Chairman Tan Sri David Wong Dak Wah, recently paid a courtesy call on Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew to brief her on the centre's second flagship event. Council Members Chin Yuen Fong and Roger Chin were also present.

Wong, the former Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak, emphasized that Sabah is hosting this international event for the second consecutive year. "This underscores BICAM's growth and its commitment to advancing the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) landscape in the Borneo region," he stated.

Liew assured the delegation that KePKAS would consider providing assistance to BICAM, particularly in the realm of tourism promotion, noting the expected participation of over 200 individuals from 10 countries, including distinguished speakers.

"As a MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) event, we anticipate that BICAM Global ADR Horizons will contribute to strengthening Sabah's presence on the global tourism stage," Liew commented.

BICAM, established in 2023 and located at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), is a leading alternative dispute resolution institution specializing in providing high-quality arbitration and mediation services for resolving business conflicts.
