KENINGAU: Vital support has been extended to students and teams from Keningau to enable their participation in the National KAFA Ihtifal Competition in Kuala Lumpur this October.
Among the recipients were the Nasyid (Girls) and Jawi Writing (Boys) teams from KAFA At-Taqwa Mosque, Keningau, who will represent Sabah at the national-level competition.
The contribution was made possible through Liawan Assemblyman, Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman, and was presented on his behalf by Mohamad Raihan Jinode, Operations Assistant at the Community Development Leader Unit (UPPM) Office. The support was received by Mohd Azraei Azri Mohd Rozi.
Annuar also channelled contributions to other groups and individuals, ensuring they are better prepared to face upcoming challenges.
The SJK (C) Yuk Yin Keningau Rhythmic Gymnastics Team likewise received support ahead of their participation in the 1st Progressive FIG Championship at the Sentosa Sports Arena, Kuala Lumpur, from 29 September to 3 October. The team’s accompanying teacher, Lasinih George, accepted the contribution.
Also recognised was the Cinnamon Al-Falah Nasyid Group from Tabika KEMAS Kg. Limbawan, which will compete in the Children’s Nasyid Competition during the Sabah State-level KEMAS Potential Day in Beaufort on 26–27 September. The contribution was presented to group representative, Cecelia Majiun.
In addition, academic excellence was acknowledged through support given to Sherly Abdullah, who will soon begin her studies at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, pursuing a Bachelor of Conservation Biology with Honours.
Emphasising the significance of such contributions, Annuar said they not only ease the financial burden but also provide moral support and motivation for young people to pursue their ambitions with courage.
“The courage of our young people to represent the state and nation is proof that Liawan is nurturing a competitive generation. While these contributions may appear modest, they carry great meaning and I hope they will inspire them to achieve even greater success,” he said.
