Covid-19: New community cluster registered Kuala Penyu

KOTA KINABALU: A new Covid-19 cluster has emerged in Kuala Penyu known as the Sankabok cluster involving a community infection.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said that the cluster was first detected after a 62-year-old housewife tested positive through a symptomatic screening at a private clinic on July 16.
“Based on the investigation, the index case had a traveled to Beaufort to get medical treatment.
“Since then, it was believed that the infection had spread to several Kuala Penyu localities, in Kg Sangkabok and Kg Tg Aru,” he said in a statement today.
According to Masidi, currently, the cluster has a total of 33 positive cases, including four new cases recorded today.
