KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded a new Covid-19 cluster today involving plantation workers, known as the Hulu Jerocco Cluster in Kinabatangan.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said nine positive Covid-19 cases were recorded today from the cluster, bringing the cumulative total to 29 cases.

"The index case of this cluster is a plantation worker who tested positive after undergoing a Socso screening.

“Close contact and workplace screening found that 28 more positive cases of Covid-19 were detected through the RTK Ag and rt-PCR tests.

"Contact tracing is still ongoing on the farms owned by the same company," he said in a press statement, here today.
