COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 239 NEW CASES, TWO DEATHS

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today recorded 239 new Covid-19 cases, a slight drop compared to yesterday’s 298, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 72,850.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said, two more deaths were also recorded today in Sandakan.
Of the total, 102 were detected through close contact screening, while 59 were detected through cluster screening, 34 through symptomatic screening, 26 through targeted screening and 18 from other categories.
To date, there is only two green zone left which are Beluran and Telupid districts while 16 districts have been declared red zones, five orange zone and four yellow zones.
"The number of active cases now stands at 2,109 with 415 treated at hospitals, 1,652 in quarantine centres and 42 in temporary detention centres.
"The number of patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 55 with 14 requiring ventilator support," Masidi said in a statement.
As for recoveries, a total of 241 discharges were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah to 69,899.
