COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 326 NEW CASES, THREE DEATHS

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today recorded 326 new Covid-19 cases, a slight drop compared to yesterday’s 370, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 73,832.


Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said, three more deaths were also recorded today with one each in Kota Kinabalu, Kalabakan and Semporna.


Of the total, 117 were detected through close contact screening, while 90 were detected through cluster screening, 47 through symptomatic screening, 42 through targeted screening and 30 from other categories.


To date, there is only two green zone left which are Tambunan and Tenom districts while 14 districts have been declared red zones, five orange zone and six yellow zones.


"The number of active cases now stands at 2,216 with 409 treated at hospitals, 1,628 in quarantine centres and 179 in temporary detention centres.


"The number of patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 54 with 12 requiring ventilator support," Masidi said in a statement.


As for recoveries, a total of 345 discharges were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah to 70,758.
