COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 65 NEW CASES, TWO DEATHS



5 April 2021 By Wartawan Nabalu News KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded 65 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 55,122. Of the total, 27 was identified from close contacts, 23 from existing clusters, nine from symptomatic screening and and six from other categories. However, Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said two deaths related to the virus was also recorded today, both in Tawau. Tawau reported the highest number of new cases with 31, followed by Lahad Datu (nine), Kota Kinabalu (nine), Keningau (six), Tuaran (four), Papar (three), as well as Sandakan, Nabawan and Semporna each with one case. Aside from the green zone districts such as Telupid, Ranau, Pitas, Kuala Penyu and Tongod, other districts that did not record any new cases are Kunak, Kinabatangan, Penampang, Tambunan, Putatan, Kalabakan, Kota Belud, Kudat, Tenom, Kota Marudu, Beaufort, Sipitang and Beluran. "The number of active cases now stands at 493 with 219 of the patients at the hospitals, including 31 in the intensive care unit with 17 of them ventilated, and 274 in the quarantine and low risk treatment centres. "The cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah is 54,184 to date, including an addition of 61 recoveries reported today," he said.
