KOTA KINABALU: United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) candidate for N22 Tanjung Aru, Dennison R. Indang, convened a detailed briefing session with the constituency’s election machinery in Sembulan Lama as preparations accelerate ahead of the state election.
The one-hour session, held from 5pm to 6pm at the home of Rapiah Majid, brought together key grassroots coordinators, sector heads and polling district volunteers who form the frontline of the party’s campaign operations.
Also present was UPKO Labuan Division Chief Miguel Sagundai, who joined the meeting to provide organisational support and share campaign coordination strategies.

Dennison said the briefing was important to strengthen communication between the candidate’s team and the local machinery, particularly in areas such as voter engagement, logistical planning, and neighbourhood-level outreach.
“We need a machinery that is disciplined, organised and fully informed. The people of Sembulan Lama deserve a campaign that reaches every household,” he told the attendees. He also expressed his appreciation for the dedication and support accorded to him.
The session also included updates on targeted outreach plans, and preparations for walkabouts, night visits, and house-to-house Engagement, activities expected to intensify in the coming week.
Members of the Sembulan Lama machinery raised issues faced by local residents, including infrastructure concerns, urban community needs and public safety, which they hope Dennison will prioritise in his campaign message. Dennison assured them that feedback from the ground would shape his policy focus for the Tanjung Aru constituency.
Miguel praised the machinery’s readiness, saying that coordination between divisions, and support from neighbouring regions, strengthens UPKO’s overall campaign capacity.
The meet-and-greet session concluded with a reaffirmation of duties for all volunteers and a reminder of the importance of consistent communication between the command centre and polling district teams.
