KOTA KINABALU: Those who are working under the essential services and goods are not required to obtain approval from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) to cross-district, said Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun.

However, these employees are required to provide a letter from their employers and a Cross-District Permission Letter from the police as stated in Masidi's press statement dated June 2.

According to him, the permission to operate for Essential Services and Essential Goods is under the authority of the State Government and Local Authorities.

“The Sabah State Government through the State Disaster Management Committee (Covid-19) is responsible for preparing a special Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Sabah with details for each activity and its chain."
