Food and Hospitality Industry boosted through collaboration with Informa Markets

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Hospitality Fiesta and Food Hospitality Malaysia (FHM), Borneo Edition 2024 launched today is a celebration of the rich culinary heritage and the boundless potential to the hospitality industry in Sabah.
Datuk Christina Liew the Minister of Tourism Culture and Environment said the event marks a pivotal moment in the vibrant history of Sabah's hospitality sector.
Speaking when launching the event at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) today she also announced the strategic partnership between the Sabah Hospitality Fiesta and Informa Markets.
According to her, this powerful collaboration between two iconic industry events promises to create an unparalleled platform for showcasing the best the sector has to offer, featuring both local talents and international innovations.
Informa Markets creates platforms for industries and specialist markets to trade, innovate and grow.
Christina said the three- day event is poised to become a melting pot of cutting-edge ideas and trends—a hub for meaningful discussions and a launchpad for invaluable connections that will undoubtedly propel Sabah's hospitality industry into a dynamic future has to offer—both from local talents and the global stage.
During the duration, there will be a competition where 30 categories spanning professional and apprentice levels, pertaining
to culinary arts, beverage preparation, and hospitality services will be presented on its respective categories.
The event will culminate on September 28 with the announcement of winners, celebrating the pinnacle of industry excellence and innovation.
Also present during the event were Josie Lai, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Wong Khen Thau Advisor of Sabah Hospitality Fiesta and Executive Chairman of ATI College, Datuk Rosmawati Lasuki Chief Executive Officer of Sabah International Convention Centre, Haikal Hanib Director, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and Nurashiqien Jimmy Kayting Deputy Director, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) among others.
